well I know that slotted rotors are alot better then the stock brakes in the sence that they don't get as hot which will not warp the disk also help in cooling the pads so that they don't wear out to much, it will also help in stopping distance. Just make sure what brand they are.

is he doing just the front brakes or is he doing all four? really you can do the front they are quite easy. 10-15 $ worth of tools and then the price of pads and rotors and your saving a ton of money will prolly cost you more around 100$ to do it yourself.

nope not hard at all. and even if you wanna replace the pads its easy to do that just a few tools needed and there would be no problem. if you do decided to do it yourself let me know and ill help ya out as much as i can.

1. T55 or 55T Torx bit
2. Large C-clamp
3. peice of wood.
4. 3/4 inch ratche reduced to 3/8ths will break anything lose but 3/4 inchers arnt cheap but if you can borrow one somehow do that other wise you will have to do more work trying to break it lose.

that is about it really
