Hey guys, appreciate all of the useful hints I've found here, but I've got another question.....

My girlfriend has a 2000 Grand Am, and the once the key is in the ignition, the ignition won't turn to start without jiggling the key the right way, however I've noticed it's getting worse and assume shortly the switch will go out.

Am I right to assume it is the Ignition Switch?

If so, how hard is this to replace myself? I called and a place locally will do it for $279. Just wondering if it's something involving just taking the trim out and replacing it, or do I have to mess with all the theftlock stuff?

Thank you,

-Bill

Call a locksmith, I believe there is a small whole you put a pin in, press and the key assembly pulls out. You may need to take a couple of things off first.

But I have not pulled one on a GA.
