Rough Idle after start up

My 97 GAGT after start up runs really rough. It will die done to a near stall then rev up, on occasion it will stall. The check engine light is on steady. It only lasts about a minute or so, Then runs alright, although abit sluggish. I took it to Midas and all the tech will tell me is its an Evap. code. I have new plugs. PCV, air filter, oil and filter. The car has 267,000 kms.

Any suggestion on what the problem could be.

get your SES light checked out and see what the code is
