Hello everybody, the forum looks real nice and have been reading some posts. I am picking up an older Grand Am this Saturday. Its going to be my everyday driver when I get it fixed.
car: 1989 Grand am LE 4 Door
Engine: 2.5 Itech (Iron Duke)
Tranny: Automatic
Price: $100, yes $100, thats not a typo
Car is in ok to ruff shape. Its been sitting for a while and the clear coat has pretty much flaked off. The center console is busted from somebody taking the radio, the inside is dirty from being used as storage but not in to bad of shape. The driver fender was backed into so there is a nice dent there. This car does run, they stopped driving it because it belonged to the guys mother who has loss use of there legs. 2 reason they are selling it, the first and reason its not been driving as it will backfire through the intake after warming up and giving it the gas, did some research it it sounds like it could be a coil, module or crank sensor problem. The car doesn't smoke and it idles pretty good, no noticable lope or hiccups except fro the occasional backfire when you give the gas. The second reason and probably another reason for the price (was only asking $200 for it) is that they have family coming and they need the space in there driveway. The car has just over 155,000 on it. I don't have any pics at the moment but will have some up once I get the car and clean it up a bit.
As for me, whats there to say? My name is Jason, have three kids and am married. Used to work for a Pontiac dealership doing oil changes back in 02, and fell in love with the grand Am GT Ram Air car. Maybe one of these days I will have the money to buy one. Work part time at the local Toy Store and am trying to get a promotion to a supervisory position (I hate looking for work).
