I been looking for some headers for my 2.4L engine (GA) and the only one I find is the Venom one for the 2.4L Cavy (for about $700) .
*Anyone knows where can I find some headers for the 2.4L engine? :???:

*What prices do you guys think I might be looking at?

I found a good number of headers for the 2.4L Cavaliers.
Do these headers fit Grand Ams?

Btw, my car is a 96 Grand Am!

I don't see why the 2.4L Cavy headers wouldn't fit. After all there is more room in the GA engine bay than there is in a Cavy. There are several options for headers for the 2.4L (99+, but again don't see why they wouldn't work):

Stan's (includes hi-flow cat)
RKSport
Pacesetter
Mantapart

lol Venom doesn't make a header. Thats the intake manifold.

Yeah, that's right its the manifold not the header ;) ...

Alero 1 you said that there are several options for the headers for the 2.4L GA 99+...
I think that those headers would fit my 96 GA (2.4). I'm I right?

Thanks for your feedback guys.

Yes any of those should fit. :)

What do you guys know about RKSport Headers???
I have research and look at info and people's coments on them and they seem to be ok ;), but I would like to know what do you guys think about those?

If you know something good or bad about them, could you please share it :)

Thanks people!!!

They don't make an NA header. Thats a turbo header :)

What's the difference between a header and a Turbo header?

* Do you have to have a turbo to have the turbo header?
OR
* Is the turbo header just like anyother header?

Could you guys explain to me a little bit more about that please!!!

Yes, in short a turbo header is designed to accept a turbo bolted on to the end of it. Whereas a regular header is usually design to go to a short "flex" or "ball socket" so that when the engine moves it doesn't move the exhaust pipes much and keep them from rattling against the firewall or underside of the car.

But I guess technically you could bolt an exhuast system up to a turbo header. Which would be a 4-1 header and you'll probably loose a little bottom end power.

hmm lol I guess you could make it work but it wouldn't be worth all the custom work. Most of the turbo headers turn and point upwards and it would be hard to get the pipe to then come down around the header then out towards the back of the car. Plus they are already 500 bucks and you can get a regular header for that much.

Do you guys know of any regular header that would fit a 96-98 GA w/ 2.4L engine?

OR

Does anyone konws of someone with a regular header in his 2.4L GA?

Thanks for the explanation about turbo headers ;).

I think that Induction-Dynamics was or is developing headers for GAs with 2.4L engines :).
*Does anyone knows about this?

I e-mailed them like twice about 2 weeks ago and they (Induction-Dynamics) haven't answer yet. I hope to hear something good about this from them :).

yeah will have to wait and see how much they go for.

yeyo
01-30-2003, 05:29 PM
Yes, I'll have to wait how much they cost $$$, I hope they don't ask for a big amount of money :agree:

By the way,, I know some people specialize in custom headers, but I can't find anyone who does that here in Phoenix, Arizona:(
But, how much do you guys think someone would charge for some custom headers?
I would like to know about how much they charge!!!

Yeahdoug

Probably not worth it. Better to buy one from one of the companies above.

yeyo
01-30-2003, 10:33 PM
I would buy right away from the companies from above, but the problem is that the headers from the companies (above) do not fit my 96 GA 2.4L :(.
At least not that I know of :(.
You know what I mean?

Do you know of someone who has installed a header from any company to his/her 96-98 GA (2.4L engine)?

Thanks man, I appreciate your answeres man!!! :agree:

Apparently stacysga has the rksport header on a 97. SO I would see why it would work on your car.

I'll try to find "stacysga" and ask her/him if he/she has installed an RKSport header and how did he/she made the RKSport header fit in the 97 GA (2.4L) ;)!!!

Alero1

they fit.

Yeah, Stacysga has a header that he/she installed to his/her GA. Stacysga had to do a few things to make it fit, but stacysga got it installed and that's what matters after all ;)
Looks like I'm getting custom header for my GA, I'll get it depending on $$$$ the price!!!

yeyo
02-03-2003, 09:49 PM
Hey, Stacysga got a header installe on her 99 or 2000 :(, not a 96-98 GA :(.
Anyone knows of someone with a 96-98 GA w/ header??
I have e-mail to all the companies that you guys recommended and they said that no-one has installed a header for a 96-98 GA :(.
Anywhere else:???: ?

Has anyone installed a pace setter header in a 96-98 GA?

or any other header?

You could use a 2000+ Header on the 96-99 2.4's only 1 major difference. EGR, the 2000+ header will not have provisions for the EGR, so its time for a block off plate, which wont hurt, if anything it will help out a bit, no more injesting that hot skanky exhaust into your intake manifold.

You should be able to use just about any 2.4, whether for a GA or Cav. Looking at the differences in engine bays before i put the RK on my Cav it looks like it will fit without any problems at all.

I prefer my own custom header, but before i made that i chose the RK, which is really nice especially the ceramic coat.
