I didn't have the time or money this year to go to the meet for the whole weekend. I do however have it for drag racing on saturday, and seeing as how I've only raced once this year I figured why not head down with the GAOC gang. That is if it is allright with everyone. Looking forward to see how everyone's cars have changed and improved in the last year.

What is the cost of the drags? I'm not really interested in frying my clutch but I would like to park inside and hang out.

Saturdays are $30 to race. I believe it is $10 for spectators/crew members.

That's great to hear Tim! I can't wait to see the beasts (car and dog)...
BTW I'm by myself in a room so far, I'm sure I could find some room for a cot in there if it helps you stay longer...

Well the dogs been gone for awhile. He went to a better home with a girlfriend and a big yard to run in. I've got a live in gf as well now so were just going to be down for the day, maybe stay for some festivities later on. We just got back from a 2900 mile trip that tapped out the 'ol spare fund account.

Yeah I did, I threw down a 12.59@109.43. Really wish we could have run. It would have been great.

Love That Car. We tried measuring the burnout from the hotel and it was about 42 paces.. whatever that works out in feet (about 100 I would guess)

Yeah, it would have been better if that damn street light wasn't there!!

lmao,
Uh yeah, you have that damn LS motor bouncing off the rev limiter pretty damn good.
And I do have to give you some credit, for the degree of the turn you made you kept that beast going in the right direction pretty nicely. Experience behind the wheel is obvious there. :D

For sure, John. We paced it oot, I think it was aboot 120ft long. Best burnout of the meet, IMO.
Sure put that VW to shame, at least! :)

The GTO drifting out onto the street, tires screaming, engine hitting the rev limiter and a huge cloud of smoke drifting over the restaurant as the Goat disappeared into the night.... astonished looks and smiles on all the faces.
It was poetic!
