I just started looking for a GA. its for my daughter. I am mechanically inclined so i am really looking for a fixer-upper to save a little money. i found a 2000 GT with 106k miles that overheats. is this the famous LIM issue? they want 2500 for it. black, 4 door, 3400. I am going to look at it right now.

piece of junk. damaged front and rear bumper covers. missing pass mirror. bad pass door window motor. overheating motor. a/c does not work. no floor mats. filthy carpet. cig burns in headliner. dents in at least 4 different body panels. 1 aftermarket mag/3 stock alloys. anything else i look at will seem like a show car after this.

the overflow tank was empty. the car has been sitting for awhile. we filled the tank and after awhile it burped and the level dropped. could not see any coolant near/around the manifold edges. the radiator fan was hot wired to a switch in the dash. maybe they run the fans when the motor starts to get warm. of course a normal person might think about FIXING the damn problem. i might go 1k or so since it needs so much bodywork. the guy said it runs pretty good and aside from the bodywork, it was a pretty nice car.

I put a switch on the radiator fan on my old car.... though I just wanted a quick fix while I looked for a new car, which ended up being another year or so. The car got junked anyways though.... I wouldn't have felt right selling that piece of crap to anyone :P

we looked at a 99gt today. much better shape but had a noisy front end. the seller used to work at a tire store and he said it was just tie rods. hmm, why not fix them if they are so cheap? i am thinking loose rack. we also checked out a 99 alero. black too. the body was almost as bad as #1. where do these wrecks come from? maybe all GA's are just driven hard.
