Well since the GA is going to be on extended leave I have another temporary vehicle. I dont like my dads 99 Ford Ranger because it doesnt have a cd player and i get tired of driving a slow manual truck so im borrowing a 2001 Ford Ranger that has new the 4 cyl engine cd player its a lot better Here are the picture it may be hard to tell but the truck is a very nice dark green color.

I have a question about your power steering problem on the GA..... What exactly happens when it goes out? wouldn't it just be like trying to turn the steering wheel on a car with no power steering (and when moving, isn't all that hard) but I would think you still had control of the car etc... I dunno, maybe you could elaberate on that more.

Nice truck... I was never too fond of the small pckups (Ranger, S-10 etc..) but that is a nice looking truck, and it has a tach- that makes all the differnce :)

Now ya gotta play the song Pick-up man by Alan Jackson, except forget the part where he says he'll never trade the truck for a coupe DeVille (being mean to Caddys is not cool :) )

Well the problem never occurs at high speeds when power steering doesnt make much of a difference it is always at low speeds where the power assist really kicks in and makes turning easy.. For some reason after the power steering goes out the engine usually dies (then the lights on the dash come on all of them)and then it strugles to restart.

Driving with no power steering isnt hard it just that when you have power steering and then suddenly loose it and are in a tight area its pretty hard to regain control. The first time was in wintery conditions where the slope of the highway and ice made things worse if it would have been a summer day I would have been able to regain control of the car and not go off the highway
