Hey,
My friend wants me to put a new engine in his 88 grand am. How much should I charge him. I've pulled the engine on my 3000gt and have everything I need. How difficult would it be? Anyone ever done it? Thanks for any info.

you're putting a 3000 GT engine into a GA?

sounds like a pretty dumb idea... unless you gonna charge him one helluva price

Im guessing hes talking about putting a different engine in, not the 3000GT one. I think he means he pulled his engine before and has all of the necessary tools to do so on a different car. But if you are talking about the 3000GT, thats way more work than you can even imagine

no....mje's right. He's got the same engone that's in it now. I've pulled the engine on my car before and have hoist and air tools etc. I was really just wondering what a fair price would be. I dont think there should be much difference...both fwd cars.

Which engine does he have? For a straight forward swap like that most shops would charge ~600, so like half of that I guess or maybe even 200 since he is your friend :P
