I have a 1995 grand am and I want to purchase a set of 17" american racing estrellas. The offset says 40 and I just want to make sure that this will fit on my car without any problems.

Thanks for any help owners can give me.

Keep in mind that Grand Ams (as well as many other FWD cars) have a positive offset, like +35mm, and to get something like a 0 offset or a negative offset would cause you problems. Try to stay as close to +35mm as possible.

As far as I know, the factory offset is 40mm, so as long as the 17s aren't stupid wide (like 7.5 or 8"), they should fit just fine.

If they ARE wider than 7", get a set with a smaller offset, like 37 or 35. This will help make certain that there's no interference with the spring perch by either the tire or the rim.
