if the hood had a little white on it (like a strip down the center or the sides) I would like it a lot more. also, the wheels don't look like they stick out far enough in that picture, it seems like the bodykit is too wide at the bottom, if you understand what I'm trying to say
anyway, not quite my style, but I repspect what you've done to it because it looks well done.

Well I like it. It's different which is a very good thing. We can't all drive the same cookie cutter car after all.
The wheels perhaps could stick out further to come to the edge, but in a photo it's impossible to tell if they need to.

Constructive critism:
I do not at all like that front bumper... even the andy's one is better (but still bad)
You need to fill the dips on either side of the door in because of that rocker panel going 1/2 way up your car, it just doesn't look right
The graphics kinda need to go, but I won't hold that against ya
You should paint the outsides of the hood white (like on either sie of the vents) and maybe in the middle of the vents... not sure about the middle... but definitely the outsides... Anyone can put on a CF hood... its that lil extra flair that makes it that much better :)

Bouchie11982
08-27-2006, 08:43 AM
the kit is just too much for me. but other then the kit it looks good.
Rims: Yes, but +1 more inch prolly woulda been better
Color: Yes
GFX: Yes, but I woulda had them spread more out on the car, so it's not such a straight line
Hood: Yes
Kit: I think the only reason why the rims look small is because of it, it's a lot for a GA though
Wing: Not that one, but adds to the "busy" look on the car
Fart pipe: Better not be one on there!
Rice lights: Not for GA's
All in all, not bad. The rims and the color of the gfx def go with the color of the car. You've def done a lot of work, and it's hard sometimes to go against a norm. The thing that matters is you of course - how do you feel about it? As long as you feel great when you're in it, and not like you're missing something, that's all that matters. Now, you just better turbo the hell out of that thing, just to back up the loud words it speaks!

Actually I think Gran_Damn is right in my opinion
We all (myself included) have a habit of judging cars from our own tastes according to what we would drive. That's not subjective and it isn't fair. We have to look back and think of the bigger creation. Would I personally want to drive Butlers car, no. Do I like it, hell yes I like it. I can see where he's going with it and I think he did a great job of pulling it together. There are alot of cars I don't personally want but that I apreciate a great deal. Like I've said a million times, the car I most dislike is the car that is the same as everyone elses. If graphics are your thing, then do them well.

When it comes to body kits, wings, graphics, fart can mufflers, chrome tail lights these things have become a FAD. People only do them becuase its the *in thing to do *. Its obvious mostly becuase the people that are doing these mods are 16-20 years olds. In those years of life following fads is normal. How many times do we see in a single week a new member that is 16 starts his first thread with "where can i find a body kit?". Dosent give any specifics or styles wanted, just wants a body kit, dosent matter what it looks like. As long as they can find a body kit really cheap they are cool with buying it. This member is 36 i know and dosent fit the mold but i know a few adults that havent grown up and gotten away from the fads.

As far as fads go, in the early 90's I had an 82 Chevrolet Malibu with a "kit" on it. We called them ground effects in the day, but no matter how you slice it, kits are here to stay. They started in the 80s as far as I can tell when people who made the custom style hotrods off the 40s cars decided to mass produce parts and make a fortune. It quickly expanded to all cars and I don't see it ending anytime soon. I wish I could find an old pic to show you, but being young I wasn't nostalgic enough to snap photos. These kids are years ahead of where I was.
This is kind of what the kit looked like. It was actually very nice on a Malibu. In those days kits were more subtle. http://www.edozone.com/chevrolet/Camaro%201993-1997%20body%20kit.jpg

i have to disagree with what your saying... i dont think that that movie made them follow everyone. they just woke up to the world of tuning... its not the *in thing to do* they arnt trying to make there cars look like everyone elses or the ones from the movie... theyre going for theyre own look... the body kit is just the start to what they want there car to look like... your car represents who you are (i believe)... sure stock cars are good enough.. but people want to express there creativity.. sure some of them dont have ne but there are people out there who create sick cars...
and for the body kit remark.. some of these kids may not know what the hell there looking for... but there ready to make mistakes.. there young and are willing to learn... who knows maybe they want there car to look like it belongs in the circus

I can respect the work that you have done to the car, though im my own personal opinion, a white car should have a white hood...you could do a carbon fiber, though to have a black painted hood on a white car, just to me doesnt make sense. the body kit reminds me of a fortune cookie in some way. Not my taste. I remember seeing your car at atco last year, id take the decals off, the all whiteness before made the car flow...now the decal stands out way to much and throws off the flow of the car....though thats my personal opiion.....though to each their own....

people don't know what rice is.. there is a difference between rice and tuning... rice is the crappy look where it looks like you didn't put any effort into it. tuning looks like a professional did it.
fart cans that sound like lawn mowers are rice.. fart cans that sound nicely tuned are tuners. there's s difference. know it before you hate it.
And Fast and the Furious didn't make it a fad. The only thing that movie did was open up the eyes of young people who didn't know better. Body kits and aftermarket engine parts have been around and fashionable since the begining of racing. That's the reason body kits were designed in the first place.. for better aerodynamics.
To the original poster and owner of the car. Can you do me a favor and measure the bottom of the side skirts? I mean from the front fender to the back fender where the side skirts cover? Cuz I want to know if those sides will fit my car. Those are something along the lines that i'm looking for. Also what body kit is that side skirts from? so i can find them. Thanks.
and before you call me rice for putting those side skirts on.. wait til i'm done. then i'll unvail the car to you. i got creativity and hands on experience on my side. :P

The rest of you, back off. I've seen his car in person, and I can 100% garuntee that his stuff looks damned good. I'll say it myself it's not my tastes, but it looks damned good because it was done correctly. It's not just the outside that's done professionally either, the whole car has been reworked, so the rest of you better show some respect for it, whether it's your personal tastes or not.

77 inches... now is that the bottom of the side panel from fender to fender? or the top?
could you do me another favor and take another measurement or two for me?
It would be nice if i could get the complete dimensions of it.. that would give me more of an idea of what i can work with...
but i will settle for just the measurements of the top from end to end and of the bottom from end to end. and the hieghts of both front and back fender pieces (the part that is on the fender).
Thanks man. If that's the bottom it'll be tough to work with... i think 77inches is like an inch and a half too long.. but that's not a big problem...
oh speaking of which. could you also give me the measurement of the gap between? you know the gap for the door. i need to know that too. Thanks for everything. Hopefully I can pull off what I have in mind. otherwise i'll be dissapointed that it won't be workable lol.
