Part identification help.

Hey all. I need some help identifying a part that I found in my trunk last week. I recently had some repair work done for an accident that required them removing my rear molding, so it may have something to do with that. So far nothing has fallen off so it might not even be an integral part.

Any ideas?

did you have repair work done to a door or trunk? because it looks like a clip that holds your lock mechanism in place. As ong as all of your locks are in place and don't move back and forth then you are alright.

Yup. They had to remove most of the rear parts to replace a rear quarter that some arse head slammed into as he ran a red light. After $4000 of repairs (his insurance took %100!) and a few months of normal driving I found this piece. I tried to figure it out but it wasn't clear to me where it might go back there. Anyway, thanks, tdewitt, that's pretty much what I was thinking.
