door locks

i already used the search feature, and while some of the information was usefull, my problem was not completely addressed. so here's my problem...1992 se 4 dr-- my door locks do not work with the switches at all, they do lock when put in gear, but they don't unlock when put in park. all fuses are good. i know i'll probably end up changing the switches and maybe the relay, (bad corrosion on the switches) but i'm curious as to why the doors do not unlock when put in park. i'm thinking relay, but are there more than one?

Is it just the drivers side lock or both? Did they also just stop working or did they never work? I would chack the wiring to the switch and clean the contacts as a start.

those switches never worked. but shouldn't the doors unlock when you put it in park

Mine unlock when the ignition is turned off. Not sure if that's because of my alarm or not. I would check to see if the wiring is affected in the doorpanel, etc.

wasn't sure if it was when you are in park or when you turn the key off--either way it doesn't work

Can you program them like you can with a '99+ car?
