I have a 1997 grand am with the 15 inch tire size. My gf has a chevy cavailer with 14 inch tires...as long as the bolt pattern is the same they will fit correct? one inch bigger tire/rim shouldnt matter should it? Any help would be appreciated. thanks guys and gals.

You can most often go to a larger rim on any car. But you need to use a lower profile or smaller size tire to maintain correct tire height. Mine came with 215/60-15. I installed 205/55-16 and then 225/50-16. The spedo stayed on target because the tire height stayed very close.

You are correct , i but think pontiaclite just wanted to swap the rims / tires without plus sizing ...

He wanted to put 15" wheels where it originally had 14". That is + sizing

I already explained that. Larger tires is not "plus sizing". A larger rim with a tire that is the same height as the original is.

The tire should be the right size for the speedometer and odometer to be accurate. It won't hurt anything if they are off a little.
