Well, while I still have the GA, I now bought a nice project car...drum roll please...
http://i4.ebayimg.com/04/i/07/78/78/30_1.JPG
1986 Pontiac Fiero 2M4
Got it for $910 on ebay, went and saw it in person before bidding. Needs some work, but otherwise it wouldn't be a project car.
Gotta start looking for parts now.
What do you guys think? A worthwhile purchase?

I actually like the Fiero's...i've heard they can be a death trap, lol...but that may just be a "non-fan" lol...i think they look pretty cool

How about 350 V8 instead?
Oh, and I forgot to mention, it has under 80K original miles.

Especially when the car weights less than 2000lbs.

Nah, a SBC is too much work, requires reshaping the firewall.
go for the SC 3800 here check this out if you don't think you want a L67:

Yeah, I think I got a steal. May have to bring it to Albany next year instead of the GA.
That 3800 S/C sounds mean though. Wonder whats involved with swapping it in.

It DOES run. I'll most likely run the 2.5L Tech4 into the ground. Then when it craps out, swap in a 3800.

I love those cars!
I could never own one cause you gotta be a midget to sit behind the wheel, but they are still awsome!!!

The appeal of the fiero is that its the only mass produced GM car to be a Midship-Rear design. The purest form of performance in my opinion, it is a true hallmark of Pontiac, Driving Performance. Although the interior is terrible, and the tech4 isnt much in the way of performance (the 2.8mfi was far better)
Its unique, and that alone deserves celebration.
Ive loved them since the day I started loving cars.
Ill have one someday. :D

I couldn't agree more, just make sure you grease yourself up and make sure you fit in one before you buy it, cause if your 6'3" your right leg wont make it past the steering wheel and if it does it will be wedged in there so tight you wont be able to turn the wheel (or circulate blood lol)

Ha! When you get to 150,000 miles it may decide to die. Unless you run it on no oil and no coolant, its very hard to kill "The Duke". ;)
Wish I had my old Fiero! Have fun with it! Make sure you also know the limits of this car in a corner, too...mid engines can be whacky sometimes.

All engine swaps are popular on the Fiero, they're engine swap sluts, lol

Again, they're engine swap sluts, LOL. Seriously, nearly anything can go in a Fiero. 3100, 3400, 3800, Northstar V8s, LT1, LS1/2/etc., Honda engines, lol, like anything!
Lightweight, lot-to-the-ground, RWD, fun to drive, great little car :)

Yeah, 4-bangers weak (98HP, 130lb/ft) But I will be building this for looks, not performance...until I drop in something bigger.
