VW uses lug bolts... not lug nuts. You may have to look into that first, not sure if that means the bolt holes are machined differently.

yea, since they use lug BOLTs, the machining is different IIRC - although it may still be possible if you use extra large lugs or something... Maybe you can track down an owner and swap rims with him in a parking lot real quick??

i have no way to meet up with him or contact the person who it belonged too... here are the rims... Back of the rims are marked
8Jx18H2
R6.880
so should i not risk buying them?... i really want them :(

what in the hell do those number means? XD
Looks like they will fit... but I cant tell very accurately from just photos.
Good news, it looks like the offset is very similar to our Grand Am's offset so it wont rub if you do get it to fit on there...

I would imagine that the lugs v. studs/bolts doesn't really matter that much. Provided the holes can fit the studs from the GA through, and you can find lugs that fit they should be fine.
The top of a bolt is just like a lug nut really. They look like they are conical seat as well, meaning that the same lugs that work for GA wheels would work there. If they weren't conical seating rims then you'd just use lugs with the appropriate base.
The only real difference in lug and bolt mounting is that in one the stud is on the car and you thread the nut onto it to hold the wheel; in the other the hub is threaded and you thread the bolt straight through the wheel and into the hub.

Lug (nut) vs. Stud doesn't matter as long as the stud or bolt diameter is the came (fits through hole) and the conical angle ratio of the nuts is the same as the wheels. It's a bit hard to explain.
You may need new lug nuts with the proper angle on them to match the wheel bolt hole angle but other than that they should fit.
Test fit one of your lug nuts (off the car) to see if it seats level on he angled part of the bolt hole in the wheel by holding in place with a socket and looking from the back to see if the angles match. If they do match EXACTLY then you can use your current lug nuts, if there is the tiniest space where they do not seat exactly on the other angle you will need new lug nuts with the correct angle. You can also use one of the original VW studs if you have it to check if the stud angle vs your lug nut angle matches.

I forgot 1 thing yesterday.
Golf IV wheels with the same 5x100 bolt hole pattern fit a 96 J-body (Cavalier) exactly, so I will assume that VW did not change the conical angle for the Jetta wheels seeing as how it has the same bolt pattern. Seeing as how your GA is also a 96 I would think your current lug nuts will match the angle on the Jetta wheels exactly even though they are aftermarket wheels.
