Spoiler fade

my rear spoiler is starting to fade a little on my 96 GA GT. I remeber hearing about if you put tire shine stuff on it, it'll bring the color back pretty well. Has anyone heard of this and if so what product do I use. If not is there any other ways to get the color back besides re-painting it?

If not is there any other ways to get the color back besides re-painting it? i have the same problem on my car. the spoiler is really faded and there are a ton of swirl marks. been that way since i got it. i've tried a couple things but nothings worked so far. i'm thinking of getting it painted as well as my mirrors next month.

is it a black plastic type thing? If it is then Mothers "Back to Black" works well. If it is painted body color, then I would treat it as the rest of your car. Clay bar and wax/cleaner.
