On my drivers door and rear drivers door the clear coat is peeling
and was just wondering if this should be happing on a 3 year old car and if there was every a recall.

recalls are generally for safety-relates issues only, so I really doubt there is any recall. I also do not recall seeing any TSBs on the issue. Check with your District Service Manager to see if there's anything GM can do.

look in your owners manual, that might be covered under warranty. (i know mine had a 80,000mile/X years on the paint)

The warranty usually only covers rust-through, as in holes in the sheetmetal. Paint peeling, chipping, and surface rust are not covered. :(

My paint job is fine, ive had the car since sept of 04. the only thing that i have a problem with is it looks like tar or someone went against my fender with a bicycle tire or something and i cant get it off. But my paint job is ok

Since you said there was no owner's manual with the car, I'm assuming it was a used car purchase? In that case, no it's not normal for that to be happening, but since the car was assumably used when you purchased it, it's possible those doors were refinished after the car was in an accident, or for other reasons.

If that's the case it could have been a poor refinish job or just a bad batch of paint/clear when it was refinished.

I mean it could be a paint defect from manufacturing; but if the car was bought used, you might have no idea really whether that's the original paint or not...

i thought paint was covered for 5 years from orig manufacture date of car, regardless of whom owns it, or any waranty's they have on the car... at least I know ford works like that. I would call up a dealer and ask them about it

True, but the warranty only covers perforation, meaning holes in the sheetmetal. It won't cover rock chips, paint peeling, or surface rust.
