What type of motor would the 94 grand am have ? And would it be a good deal to buy this type of car for $800 (canadian) and the car has 319,000 k on it but still runs and pulls strong ?

Thanks

There's 4 different engines available in 94. Look at the 8th digit in the VIN code...

"3" - 2.3L SOHC "Quad OHC" (115 HP) - I would avoid this engine
"D" - 2.3L DOHC "Quad 4" (150 HP)
"A" - 2.3L DOHC HO "High Output Quad 4" (170 HP) - exclusive to GT, manual only... hard to find.
"M" - 3.1L SFI V6 "3100" (160 HP)

Are all these motors v6's or is just the 3100 motor a v6?

Thanks

The Vin M 3100 is the only V6... the rest are I4's.

175 HP with the 753/303 head, early '94s.

^Depends on the year. In the Grand Am applications (94-98) it varied between 155~160 HP.
