I finally got around to putting on my exhaust today. The place my friend works at sells borla, which as many of you know is known for the exhaust used
on Corvettes. I was kinda dissapointed on the sound level quality and the overall performance. I figured with that and the recently installed intake that I would
have gained a lot more air flow but it really wasnt that impressive. Im glad that I didnt have to pay for the muffler.
I may have actually messed it up because I upgraded the pipe size from the stock size to a 3 inch so maybe when I did that I got too much air flow going out now and not enough restriction internally in the exhaust its self if that makes sense.

Three inch is way too big . Exhaust velocity will be reduced to the point power will be lost . 2.25 - 2.5 would be a better choice .

3 inches is WAAAAY overkill.
But even if you went with 2.25 or 2.5 you still wont gain much, your butt dyno probably still wouldnt pick it up.

I agree... 3" is too big.

Im going to get a 2 and 1\4 or a 2 and 1\2 today. Ill probably go with the 2 1\4 to be honest. I took off the cat converter but the engine light came on. I read a post about this somewhere on here and they make this thing called an o2 simulator.

You'll find that putting a cat back on will actually help retain all the low-end torque you lost to that oversized exhaust system.
Whoa... don't use an O2 sim. 93 = OBD 1.0 = no secondary O2 sensor. If you use an O2 sim on the primary O2 sensor, very bad things will happen.

Well I modified the pipe size today and it turned out to sound a lot deeper and a lot cleaner. It actually gave a little more low end power.
I retract my previous statment about not liking the Borla system.
Very good but a bit pricey. I would reccomend it to someone if they had the extra cash. ill try to upload some audio clips.
Anyone know of any place to upload some ?
Thanks
James

Borla ProXS mufflers can be had on eBay for about $75... which is about the same price as the Flowmaster mufflers.

Yeah I didnt get mine from ebay although I should have. I didnt think to look. A lot of people dont make applications for our type cars espically mine because it is 14 years old but the thing to remember is a muffler is universial for the most part as long as its going to fit under your car.
