Ok, when i first start my car and turn mt steering wheeling wheel my power steering squeels and after i leave my house it's fine. I checked the fluid and it's full. Is this something that is common or not?

... check the belt, it may be loose as when you first start the engine the power steering fluid is cold, hence, it is more viscous and causes more stress on the belt so it is more adapt to slip :)

I agree with Kelly.....check your belt.

when does it do it exactly? if it does it when you rev it up it could be a lose belt slipping or the pump going bad. if it does it all the time it could still be any of the two could also be a bad bearing in the pully.

I have the same exact problem. After a couple minutes, it's fine. Sounds like hell until then.

You cannot tighten it. There is a spring loaded tensioner that keeps tension on the belt. If the belt is loose, you'll have to look at replacing the tensioner pulley.

my 89 2.3 it is adjustable.
Mine was doing the same thing a while back. When the belt is cold the rubber slips on the pully's. As it slips it warms up, causing the rubber to stick to the pully's so to speak. So the squeel stops.
Any way my belt was tight, but it was so warn I had to replace it. Look at the little groves in the belt. They need to be deap enough to get a good seat.
After I changed it, I had to retighten it again in a couple days. The belt seems to streach a little with some use.

Um, yeah...but on a '94 Q4 it is not adjustable, the seprentine belt is kept tight by a tensioner pulley.

Mine the seprentine belt standing infront of the car with the hood up, is on the pass-side of the car. The power streaing belt is on the drivers side of the car. It's total length it (power stearing)has to be like 18 to 22 inches. But as a circle it's about 7 - 8 inches long.
There is a funny looking cracket like thing with a machined hole in the end of it. It's used to retighten the small belt after installing a new one.
I'm betting as most Q4's are set up the same.....If your looking at the seprentine belt, you're looking in the wrong spot. BUT I have not seen a motor in your year...I may be wrong!!
