You'll prolly find that it performs almost exactly the same.

I never understood why people put these in their GA.

^I'm about to, but it must be the DIS-2... to retard timing under boost. (I have no other options for stock OBD 1.5 system) Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

If you look closley you can see its a 6AL

Probably because its the same reason that people who have Grand Ams put paint on thier dash, or those stupid looking import body kits on thier cars. Or it could be the reason that people put the stupid little neon lights under there.
ITs all a matter of preference I think. But hey what do I know.

So you did it for looks??? :???:
Their point is on a stock (or near stock) GA your just wasting your time because it's not going to change the vehicles performance.

As it is now the vehicle is stock so your right. We are planning on tearing out the engine this weekend. I agree though, it wont reflect much of a increase if any.

That makes no sense, but John already pointed that out.

I would disagree with that. If your running a custom setup, especially when positive intake pressure is added, having full control of your ignition is a very handy tuning device.
Thats like saying a small block chevy would never need it cause if you had to adjust them timing you could just twist the distributor...
