how do u reset check oil light?

its in the manual, just take the fuse cover off the drivers side right on the side of the dash. with the key on the on position hold the button

I always thought that simply meant you had to change your oil and it would go away.

Not at all. Mine came on within 1 week of getting the oil changed.

grand am guru, nope, but if you take your cvar to a shop they reset it when they change your oil.
