I am thinking about buying a 2004 grand am. Is there any problems that have continued from the earlier models? My 2001 grand am has all kinds of problems. I am hoping to find something that I dont have to put tons of money into. Like with LIM gaskets, I have replaced them. Is that a problem in the 2004's too? Guys and girls with 2004 please give me your input on your 2004.

I belive they corrected the LIM issue after 2003.

lower intake manifold...

i have an '04, the only real problem i have had is the window clips break... (things the hold the winder to the track)

other then that all my other problems are ones i cause for myself....

I wouldn't rule out problems with the LIM gaskets on the '04's just yet. Yes, they supposedly corrected the problem. But this isn't the first time GM has made that claim. ;) it may be fixed, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Even still, I wouldn't let the possibility of a LIM gasket leak down the road deter you from making the purchase. Problems can happen to any car at any time. It's just a fact of life.
