Ok, i got my 3 piece intake off ebay. When it came it had instructions for installing a 2 piece kit for a durango in it, i thought that's pretty wierd. There's no way that i can see to put the metal plate that was right behind the airbox back in, i think it's the MAF. The directions are completly useless to me. I don't have much time this weekend, might have to use it as a WAI. Just any help or advice would be apprectiated.

I think i'm short a coupler(or 2 now that i look again), i've got three tubes, with one coupler on each, how does the MAF hook into into it? Here's a pick of everything i got.

That's not the intake for a GA. They sent you the wrong kit.

That's what i was starting to think. I'll put the ram air back in, minus the big wad of crap half the size of the airbox that i took out, wonder when the last time the air filter got changed was?!

Is doctor speed up and running again, i might just try to return this and get one from him, i'm pretty pissed off about this.

You could make that work if you wanted. Might take a litte modification though. Is that shorter tube to connect the maf and tb?

No, the longer cuved piece goes to the TB. I thought about it, it would be hard to get the MAF in there. I tried to figure out a way i could get a WAI intake out of it, but i didn't see how it would work.

Are you saying they sent you the wrong one too?

I called them and they still insist that i have the right one, that they just sent the wrong instructions, they want pictures of it, i keep emailing them, like triple-checking the email address and trying everyway possible, but they still haven't got my email. Getting a little frustrated.

No its definitly the wrong one, I say just return it and stick with em. I have a CAI from them and dont regret it at all, but their instructions suck no matter what it is though. Plus its almost 1/2 the price of Dr. Speed and the same thing.

heres a pic of the one they sent me for my 3100, i don't have an maf so its probably a bit different from what yours should look like, but i wouldn't think too much.

^That's a $20 Ractive filter (or clone) with a 3 inch piece of pipe. I hope that didn't cost more than $25... not really an intake at all, just a cone filter and way to attach it.

i know that
its got a k&n filter in it, its basically exactly waht i was going to make anyway
i think it was 40, which is basically what the filter alone would run for i believe

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense Chris, i sent them another e-mail today, i thought maybe something was wrong on my computer, but everyone else is getting my e-mails. I'll call them tomorrow and just describe the thing i have to them.

Yayyy! Say said to send it back priority mail, they'll reimburse the shipping, and send me another one(hopefully the right one this time).

So i'm going to have to drill holes in it and use rubber grommets to hold the sensors in place?

Good deal man, yea these guys that run chromeintakes seem like pretty good people, they were quick to respond to my emails too...
they might want to work on their directions though....looks like it was written by a guy who uses english as their 4th language

A word of advice. When you install it, install the straight part on the throttle body first, then install the sensors. When you put the sensors in, stick your hand inside the tube and hold the grommets in with your fingers while you push the sensors in with your other hand. I made the mistake of installing the whole thing, then when I tried to push the AIT sensor in, it pushed the grommet into the tube, so I had to take it apart again.

Also, when you put it together make sure you leave the clamps fairly loose so you can shift the parts around to make it all fit like you want it. After it is all positioned properly you can torque all of the clamps down.
