Friday i received my AED wing from sweet98aedga. The wing is absolutely beuatiful...except the split in the tip caused by UPS shipping. As of now I'm not exactly sure how long it will be until I get the wing painted and mounted. The price for repairs is about $400 and luckily the wing is insured for $700. My only fear is that in order to get that money they're going to take my wing :( . I'll keep u guys posted and try and get pics as soon as the wing is on!

Hey matt post some pictures so I can see how bad the split is. I can ask my bodyman how much it will cost to fix it. The bodyman is my uncle so I have some conections to get it done cheaper!!

Arent all AED parts fiberglass? If it is that should make the wing one hell of an easy fix. You could do it ur self.

Got to love UPS.
Ordered $1600 in parts and the boxes come with boot prints on them and parts hanging out left on a open porch in the middle of a crime filled city.
Send parts back because they are damaged, company sends new ones and goes way out of their way packing them and the boxes still come beat to hell with parts hanging out....

Anyway it really isn't the price. What pisses me off is that UPS dmaged the wing and all i want is for them to pay for the repair.

BTW, that split travels about 2-3 inches down.

Quoted Directly from AEDCentral.com
Made of 100% fiberglass. These pieces are a remove replace part and bolt up to the existing hole locations. Receive a $100 discount when you buy the complete package. Comes complete with your choice of High or Low spoiler, rear fascia, front fascia and the side rockers. The best bang for your buck if your planning to purchase the whole kit. Hoods are sold separately.
How much do you trust your body guy cause it sounds like hes lieing to try and jack up the price. Im no expert on AED I just know what I read.

Isnt the wing made of some sort of poly-something like the top of the hoods? :idunno:

First off, UPS does suck. I had "fragile" stickers, "this side up" w/ arrows, and "do not stack" on all four sides of the http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_censored.gifin box.
secondly... Just to clarify, the wing is fiberglass. The hood, fenders, and tail light housings are made w/ a high temp epoxy, which will still mix well with resin / fiberglass. The wing itself is made in two parts that Len seals before shipping, and has the lil hole in the bottom so the two pieces can breathe and not implode (as has happened to a couple members)
Third- I told Matt he was getting ripped off. He said he's in a smaller town, so I can only assume that the body guy has limited experience in aftermarket parts, so Jay if you could help him out that would be great man

Ah, ok. I knew the hood wasnt all fiberglass, the 'snouts' are flexible.
Just to tell you guys a little secret, I work for Fedex and neither fedex or UPS gives a damn about those stickers. Then only sticker we look at is the address label. The best and safest way to get the package undamaged is by next day air. That way it will be in transit very short time and most likely wont be packed with heavy packages on top of it.
As for your insurance thats probably gone. I had a CF hood shipped to me few years back. Hood came in with one corner sticking out of the box. They have special boxes made for their hoods. Hood had foam stuff all around the corners, then bubble wraped! Guy came out and said its not their fault and I should get ahold of the companny that shipped it. Never got my money, and it was a $1000 insurance on it.
