Well, it turns out the coolant leak that I have is coming from one of the freeze plugs on the back of the engine toward the firewall. Its right where the tranny sits. I need to know what would be required to change this and maybe any other ones out. I have the GM service manual but I cannot find freeze plugs anywhere in there. Damn GM they always have different names for things than we do... e.g. alternator, GM=generator

well, got em changed... cost me 7.5 hrs of labor at 70 /hr. total cost 590 and change. the parts (freeze plugs and coolant) only costed 13 and change. NOTE this is a very expensive job. if you have to get it done make sure they do them all at the same time.
