i really need to get my rear brakes done as they have never been changed yet with 62k miles on the car, the rotors are warped pretty bad and the pads are about 1/4, is it worth shaving them if they can be or should i just buy new rotors as i heard the stock rotors are known for warping, if i should get new ones im gonna go buy the rotors seperate as its cheaper than buying them from the dealer, prolly buy the pads as well, and do you know if there is anything else that should be needed that i could buy as well in rear disc brakes as i know they are little diff from the front ones, cause of the emergency brake, i pretty much just wanna have all the parts and go to dealer and say here the parts, i just need u to change/install them lol, my mechanic retired and doesnt have shop anymore so gotta take to a dealer :P, thanks

Places that repair cars don't want you bringing in your own parts. They use what works and they will give you some sort of guarantee. You get nothing if you buy the parts for them to install.
How about buying a repair manual and doing the brakes yourself. They're not too hard and can be changed with basic tools.

Don't bother turning rotors , especially warped ones ;) They're cheap enough to just replace , and like you mentioned stay away from stock replacement units ... ;)

i had front brakes done in may, new rotors that were $40 cnd each, pretty cheap but anything was better than the stock ones, new pads $70cnd, and new calipers($110cnd each) seal went in one of them so just bought new ones, think u can get them like rebuilt but i didnt have time for that at the time, was $550 cnd total for front brakes, plus i was able to watch the guy do it which made me feel better lol, this was my mechanic before, he doesnt make any money off the parts as he tells u what u can get and lets u choose then orders them straight from piston ring here in canada
