Hello all !

Following my last posts and after all the nice replies I got from everybody, its quite hard not to post whenever something comes up :)

so I have a problem regarding my clutch. It makes a vibration on the pedal and emits a low noise ONLY when I press on it.

The noise and vibration go away instantly after I release it, therefore not happening when steady on a gear.

The repair said it needed a clutch job because it could go anytime...

Really ? It went for about 800$ Canadian over here...

Forget to add that he said it was probably a bad clutch bearing...

Thanks for your help

It sounds like the throw out bearing . This is a common problem , the bearing is not expensive but it's the labor to install it that's expensive . If you have to tear it down to replace it many people will go ahead and replace the clutch while their at it . You don't really have to unless it's worn , but while it's apart you may as well do it if it's needed . :)

Thank you Colin for your help.

How long can I keep driving this way ?

I dont want my clutch to die on me without notice especially when far from home !

Although if you tell me that this problem can be present for years before anything breaks, then I guess ill stay this way for now...

Thanks once again for your help !

It's hard to predict how long it could last , i had a noisy bearing in my 5.0 Mustang that went on for months before i beefed it with a motorsport clutch kit . It 's a crap shoot , it could go anytime . It wouldn't be that expensive if you can do the labour yourself . Sorry , but all i can say is fix it as soon as you can afford to . :)
