Hey guys,

I'm glad I found your site. You guys are a great help.

My question is... I've seen a couple of "serp. belt change" posts on here, but they all seem to be for a 6cyl. Will these be pretty similar for a 4 cyl??

If not, does anyone have any pointers on the best way to change one on a 4cyl, with the least amount of cuss words involved? hehehe

Thanks for your help!!

Thanks for the link.

Does anyone know if I need to jack the engine up, and remove the motor mount? Things look awefully tight in there!

This is awsome 99grandam, but it won't let me click the links for "removal procedure" or "installation procedure". Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well, the document I posted is a PDF and doesn't have any imbedded links ... regardless, those aren't links anyway and the only thing the factory says about it is shown on that one page :)

to remove the old one, just cut it off

to put the new one on, thread it the way the picture on the car shows it (its either on the hood, or the radiator subframe, I don't remember which). Loop it around all of them except the pulley tensioner. This you will need a LONG wrench for so that you can push the tensioner towards the back of the car, which will allow you slack on the belt to put it around the alternator pulley. Then just release the pressure on the tensioner pulley and the belt will be in place and ure all set
