I have a 96 grand am with the quad 4 2.4l dohc and and a auto trans and I am looking for a few mods. I want to change the exhaust manifold for a header and the stock air intake to a cold air intake. I can't seem to find any decently good ones for cheap. The exhaust is stock except for a 2 inch flowmaster 40 series delta muffler (not a fartcan). For the cold air intake I want to get rid of that plastic black box assembly and go off of the throttle body. I am willing to spend up to 400 to 500 dollars total.

I found these but I am not sure if they will work for my grand am.

the other part is from summit and is part # PSM-70-1278 and is a pacesetters header

It says it is for a cavalier and a sunfire but they use the same engine?

you cant use the exhaust from cavaliers or sunfires, theres just a little bit of difference in the placement and they dont fit. something about the firewall i believe. anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure about it

IIRC actually the steering rack is different on the two cars as well and theres clearance issues there.

YOu can use that header, but expect to notch the runners and reweld it to clear everything that will be in the way. (IE, its not a simple bolt on mod for us)
