ok I have a '99 grand am se coup, with a 2.4L engine. I am really looking for any suggestions on what to do to dress up the engine.(I would include pics of the current engine, but i'm at college without me car and I assume most of you no what the 2.4L engine area looks like) I plan on buying a new air intake (any suggestions on this for the 2.4L) and while looking for this information I was informed that there are no spark plug wires on the '99 2.4L? Any help please, the engine is really clean looking right now but I want to make it look as good as the outside of the car looks.

Check out the "Members Rides" section. Many people have pics of their engine. www.cardomain.com is another good site of pics.

Save some shots that you like and go from there. It doesn't have to be the 2.4 to get good ideas.

Clean and polish what you have for now.

No real wires on the 2.4L engine. The spark plugs are in between the two cams and there is a metal cover with the coil packs on it.

In the top pic, the cover has "Alter Impact" on it.

Look for an intake for a cavalier or sunfire with the 2.4, they will work. I would buy a cheap ebay intake, that is a knock off of the AEM style. Like what "smooth 1269" has, not just the S-shape type.

All 2.4L Twin Cam's do not come with spark plug wires, the motor uses and IDI system.

And heres a picture of my engine bay (note: I have the 2.3L HO manifold on my motor)

Heres a pic of mine, i know its a lot of orange, but the big thing is to have the engine and stuff as clean as possible. I use black magic 2 in 1 degreaser and shine and then sprayed the black magic tire foam on anything that is black.

i took that black box infront of the block that connects ur intake to ur throttle body and painted it blue im gonna put a picture on in a day or so but it looks nice im prolly gonna take it off and sand it a lil mor just to make it look a lil nicer but otherwise its really nice i just used engine enamel paint so it can stand teh high heat of the engine
