I was just wondering if a G6 sunvisor would fit in my 03 Grand Am??? I've been annoyed that when i need to block the sun, the visor only goes so far. and i'd like to see if these would fit.

I don't think they do in her car. I've seen the ones with the extensions but my 03 doesn't have it. I think it's a 99-02 feature. By extend you mean the plastic panel that makes them reach more towards the middle, not down. mine has a mirror inside and a sticker about air bags, but no plastic panel.
Is it different on sunroof cars perhaps? A freinds Impalla has them, and no sunroof.

There is no panel that slides out. If you onhook the visor, the whole visor slides over, at least on my 02 it does.

They extended on my early '99, and they extend on my '03.

Katie, I had to tug on it pretty firmly to get it to extend the first time in my '03. Actually, I didn't think they extended either. I had tried myself and they didn't budge. Then in Albany, Ben (Gimli) was in the front pass seat, and we were commenting about the visors, and I mentioned that mine didn't extend. So he grabbed it and pulled. Viola! They do extend after all!

it may be hit or miss, my stock cloth ones extended out in my 03, but when I switched to the leather ones, they didnt extend out.

My '03's are cloth, my '99's were vinyl.

Shawn, i don't see anywhere on how they would extend out. i can't polay with them now because im in class but last i looked there wasn' any history of it being used like that. if anyone can get a picture of their before i get out of clas at 12 it woul be appreciated. that'll give me an idea once i get back to my car.

I think they all slide out like that, which comes in handy if the sun is beside you, but on the Impala there is a panel that comes out so the visor is bigger, not just moved. That way when the sun is in from making that giant orange sphere of blindness that moves as you take corners, the entire thing is blocked.

so we're talking about being able to swing them around to the side right? And not like the visors that have the plastic that slides out of the sides?
If thats not the case I am very confused.

Yes, you can swing it to the side, but it also slides to it can go further to the side or further to the middle of the car. It doesn't get bigger like what I thought we were talking about.

I have no clue what you're talking about, lol... First time I ever heard of them extending. I'll have to check mine and see if they extend.
Where would this extension be? Downwards... or left-to-right????? Be a joke if I have 'em too and never knew it, lol....
Katie; hood looks awesome... Did you have it painted in Chicopee or Springfield? Looks like a great color match; that's why I was wondering who painted it for you...

Well I'll be damned.... I have those extensions too, lol. I never knew the visors could do that. Maybe they're on all Grand Am's ?? I have a 2000 GT1 and I looked at my option groups and those extensions are not mentioned anywhere..
