i have a CAI on my 97 grand am i notice a diff in power. if i put it down into my fender will i notice more of a power gain

You don't have a cold air if it's not in your fender already, just a warm air. If you do move it you will get some cooler, more dense air but like already said, I doubt you will notice the gain if there is any...It's always better on the motor if you bring in cooler air anyways.

im going to disagree, but as ryan said you dont have a cold air thats jsut a warm air / short ram, cold air is in the fender, i switched back and forth ebtween warm air 2 or 3 times when working on it and the warm air seemed to take awya from throttle response, youll be ahppier with the cold air intake IMO

^^^^I definately notice the difference. In the winter time I short ram it, in the summer, it's in the fender. Too much crap on the roads here in the winter to have a CAI. So, I've driven quite a few miles with both. I find that I will get better fuel milage with the short but make better, "smoother" power with the CAI.
