Vent does not work

ALright, the problem i am having is that my #1 & #2 vent airflow control wont work. As soon as i pump the knob up to #3 it works fine, as well as the rest of them. Has anyone had this problem, and know how to fix it? Thanks

Yep, the same thing happened to me. It's one of those green circuit boards and it's located under the dash. Some of the contacts have been fried. I think it cost me $43.56 to have it replaced by a mechanic, but I guess you could do it yourself for cheaper, but I think he had to remove the dash. The part cost $23.09.

I think he put a newer style in and I haven't had any problems since.

so probably just a GMC mechanic? I can too incompetent to do it myself, so i will probably just end up taking it to them then. Thanks

I just took it to my local mechanic. I found the invoice and the part number is 15359314 and he called it a resistor. A dealer would probably charge more for labor. He charged me $18.

I just checked out http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and they have it for $11.76 (wow, I paid more than double!).
