Alright guys, I am getting ready to start the process of pulling me engine. From the research I've done, the books say to drop the engine out of the bottom and some people have removed it through the top. I do not want to have to remove the tranny and axles so therefore it has to come out the top. What do you guys think? should I remove the transmission along with the engine or leave it in the bay?

If it's a 5-speed you'll want to go out through the bottm...If it's an auto, out through the top. Unless someone else can suggest otherwise.

if your pulling the motor to build up, i say swap in the 5speed too. You should drop around .5 off your 1/4 time

i bought everything i need for the swap except for the flywheel and tranny mounts. The trans itself looks pretty rough as well so I might keep searching for a new one.
