I was going to get the silverstars for my headlights and driving lights, when I noticed that Silverstar has a new bulb, the Silverstar Ultra. Has anyone hear anything about these.
Thanks

Never heard of them. Must be something brand new because it's not even on the Sylvania website yet. The only new light on their website appears to be Sylvania Extra-Vision. No mention of those Ultra's.

They're supposed to be a little higher colour temp than the old ones; and, more importantly, they're supposed to last longer. (Normal Silverstars are guaranteed only for 1 year and usually don't last much longer than that.)
They're more expensive but considering if you buy normal SilverStars and they burn out in say 13 months, you're screwed and have to buy a new set anyway...

Cool...good to know. When you say color temp, do you mean they would be more towards the whiter side..... or more towards the "cool blue" side ?

I am interested in this. I love my PIAA's because they look white and last long, but I hate the fact that I can only get them online because none of the local places carry them.

Hmm, I'm not sure. At a certain point (as you probably know) as you go up in colour temp. the colour starts going from white to more bluish but I'm not sure the colour temp of the Ultras...
Sylvania's site seems to be a little behind their own products and I can't find much about the Ultras...
The only thing I found was this comparison chart:

Aha, that's a great comparison.. Judging from that web page, it looks like their new Ultra's are the brightest and whitest that Slyvania makes. Even whiter that the SilverStar's..
Damn.... I just installed new assemblies a few months ago (stockers). I'm not going through that hassle again; I had so much aggravation trying to get those damn guides lined up correctly.. I sprouted more gray hair, lol... I've got too many gray's now; can't get any more!

I just saw these new Ultra's at a local store. $48 a pair compared to Silverstars that are $36 a pair. I hope they are worth the money.

I'll buy them and give 'em a try when my SilverStar's burn out. The SilverStar foglight bulbs are rated for approximately 100 hours of use; not sure what the headlight bulbs are rated for though...
If they are even brighter / whiter than SilverStar's, then they should be awesome because these regular SilverStar bulbs are fantastic. I like that bright, white light... My neighbor tried those Cool Blues; not impressed with those at all.
