Water temperature gauge? Cool ... electric or mechanical?

It's mechanical.... it has a tip on the end that you submerge.... though I am now thinking I want to make it an oil temperature gauge but I also have to hook up the oil pressure gauge as well. Not sure how to do both. Maybe someone could help me with that.

... I'd have to look for sure but there MIGHT be a threaded port on the cover that encloses the thermostat; however, I have not really investigate this so I may be completely wrong ... as far as the oil pressure and oil temperature go, you simply remove the the factory oil pressure switch (located in front of the engine over top of the starter) and in your case, if there is enough room, I would install a nipple into the block (where the oil switch just came from) and then thread on a 'cross fitting' so you can reintsall the factory oil pressure switch and the new oil pressure gauge and oil temperature gauge senders (in my car, I we only installing an oil pressure guage so I simply installed a 'tee fitting' since I only needed a spot for the original switch and one sender but in yourcase, you need two) ... take a look and if you have enough soon, this is how I would connect the senders ... electrically, the rest is just a matter of locating and connecting to various wires which for the most part can be found behind the stereo :)

Hey thanks! That's very helpful. I'll take a look. I have to give her an oil change in a few weeks so that will be a good opportunity. If anyone knows how I can hook up both, please let me know. Thanks.
