I've been doing some research on how to make fiberglass pieces ( through a couple links here at gaoc) and i really would like to start making some things for my car. Ive read about most of the safety part of it, but if anyone could direct me to a site that thoroughly goes through the steps for making a piece i would really appreciate it :D If I find a good site i'll post it for yall. Thx

I have a basic how to stickyed in this section, its not too in depth though. I would say search google. There are many many how to sites out there. Find one you think explains it the best and go from there. Also, practice makes perfect. The best way to learn is to do it..

I've messed around with it some its been a while though

I've always bought from these guys http://www.uscomposites.com/ they used to have the best prices so check them out. Dont buy resin from home depot/wal-mart/local auto parts store most of that stuff sits on the shelf so long its just garbage by the time you go to use it....yes resin does have a shelf life so dont buy 5 gals of it if you arent going to use it all within a few months

im decent with it. you need to know that theres different techniques depening on if youre workiing off another panel versus making a piece from scratch. you also need to consider what the purpose is of the piece. if its strickly cosmetic then doesnt need to be too thick but if its being used as a subwoofer box then it needs to be thick and reinforced.

search the sites that people have been posting, theres tons of info out there. the best way to learn though is to try it out. do some fooling around with it before you jump right into a job. once you feel comfortable with it then you can start doing real stuff. its a lot like paper machet.

some interior stuff can just be sanded smooth, or filled with body filler. thats what i did with my door handles

I say build a custom frame. This way you can make all the necessary compartments needed for your accessories. Then treat it like a custom sub enclosure. Wrap some cloth around it,tightly. Then lay down some resin, then start fiberglassin
