Ok, here's the story part. I was late for school this morning by a few minutes and had to run to get everything together and into my car. As soon as I get in my car, I flopped down, put the key in the ignition, and pretty much threw it into start. The car didn't start, and the key was stuck to where it would move to accessory and start but not far enough down the line for me to take it out. I managed to get it out using the "emergency key release" trick, but now it sticks everytime I try to start it, and it still won't start. Nothing works except for the trunk release...door locks, ignition, ect., and I can't remember if the lights came on when I first tried starting the thing or not. Oh, and the damned theftlock light is completely off. Not even flashing. Though it's a bad sign, at least the car looks better for a change:D . Anyway, I really need to get to school, so could someone please help me out?

Alright, now the thing seems to want to work. None of the fuses inside were blown or anything, so I checked the engine fuses with my door open. I look up after getting the cover off, and the lights were on. Nice. So could all of this been caused by a loose connection somewhere, like a battery connection or something? Or is my car just being a typical grand am?

It's normal, and being a typical GA.
About all you can do is:
* Lube the ignition cylinder with special graphite lubricant; and,
* Service the Alt/Batt/Cables.

Lol, thanks. Turns out it was just a loose battery cable...as soon as that was tightened up, the car started up just fine. Made me feel stupid, but thanks to my GA, I got to skip 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd period XD. Now there's a nice suspension problem to fix, but at least it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the GA electronics. Just a McPhereson suspension being itself...
