I am thinking of extended my center console into the back seating area and making it all one piece with a DVD system, cup holders, and auxillary power outlets. I am not going to be putting in bucket seats however. Has anyone ever done anything like that? I'm working on sketches and templates now.

I think what would be easy to do is just get 2 center consoles out of a junk yard or somthing. Then make one long one. See what I'm getting at?

That sounds like a cool idea. I'm sure there are several ways to do it, it depends on exactly what ur looking for. I bet everyone could help you out if you posted some pictures of the scetches.

Haha I think Paul is planning to do the same, eh?
I like Joe/Pauls idea of JY center consoles then hacking them up to fit.
Cupholders for the backseat ftw

I have two consoles, that was my idea to do that and somehow fabricate something and mold them together.

Matt, cupholders for the seat aren't a new thing on these cars. My four door is bone stock on the interior and it has two cupholders that fold down from the back of the console.

or if you don't have a second console, build a frame with some compartments then spread some cloth, tightly wrap the frame, then start fiberglassing. Think of it as building a custom sub enclosure, same concept

I used cardboard last night and started a template. I will need to get some other items to create molds for the fiberglassed pieces. It's gonna take some work, that's for sure. So far I like what I've come up with. The console will include two 12v ports, a 120v port, a place to put a set of wireless headphones, a deck for a portable DVD player, cup holders, and a catch all spot for cell phones and stuff. The best part is I can still fold down one of my rear seats to have stuff that won't fit in the trunk or open it up to where the sub is in the back. The console will have a place inside with an access door made of clear plexi-glass where my new amp can be mounted with neons to light it all up.

I don't think I am going to do this right now. My amp is huge and has to go in the trunk and will not fit in this. Maybe in the future. I am creating a custom platform in the trunk to mount the amp.
