i have searched on this site and couldnt find an exact answer to my question....
i need to know where the neutral saftey switch is on my 1995 grand am SE ... any one have any experience with this, i need to hook it up to my alarm system i am putting in...also i heard that i dont necessarily need to wire this up its just to make sure the car will not start when its in gear
any help would be great

there are several neutral safety switch circuits out there - and I can't say for sure which one the GA has (i'm sure some guru around here does tho). If the car is an automatic, and your NSS is working correctly, why do you want to even connect it? Seems like a lot of work for nothing :)
Been doing remote starts on all manner of vehicles for 13 years now and have yet to even need to find the NSS, let alone use one <wink>

alright thanks. the use of that wire sounded pretty stupid, i dunno many people that would want to start their car with a remote in gear, it would roll away  i was just curious if it had to be wired up

Assuming this is for you remote starter posted in your other thread.....you don't need to tap into your vehicles NSS. I've never seen a Remote Starter that had to.
Most DEI remote starts that I've encountered (and I've come across alot, as they are a brand I sell and install daily) you'll have a black/white wire and also a toggle switch. One end of that toggle will go to the black/white wire, the other end will need to be grounded. This serves as a turn off switch for the Rem.Start so if you have the vehicle serviced, you can disable it so it won't remote start unless the toggle is flipped in to opposite direction.
If you just ground the Black/white wire the Remote start will not have any other safety turn offs other then the brake switch, and the hood pin.

There is no NSS on my GA. I have thought about installing one but have since just turned off the remote starter. Just don't leave it in gear if you want to remote start it. (don't ask)

you're telling me if you leave your car in any of the driven gears and turn the key off (you just won't be able to take the key out) you will be able to CRANK in any of those gears????????
better get that looked at <wink> If indeed the car will NOT crank in driven gears, you indeed do have a NSS and just don't know it ;)
