I'd like to get four of those and make my own electric bass amp...
That would be a gig-worthy rig for sure. ;)
I'd suggest removing all of your glass before putting one of those in your car.

nope it does not beat it lol
and the MTX Jackhammer weighs triple compaired to the earthquake sub, while the earthquake is pushin 7000 rms out of a 15" and the MTX is a 22" pushin 6000
Both are highly impressive!

My simple question is why. Besides someone with a lot of money and trying to win national competitions, it would be stupid to buy anything like this. Plus, like you have all guessed, you need an amp powerful enough to run them. Plus the battery and monster cable, and the... aaaa... Just too much. My personal favorite is "Dual (2x1ohms) 4" x 8" High Temp MILITARY GRADE flat wire voice coil". I dont know about the americans, but I know in the CF we dont have military grade voice coils. But peronsally, I dont know why people would bother coming up with these size of subs, what good are they? But then again, I wonder the same thing about so many of the show cars ive seen.

its aimed at the people that buy 15 15's for their SUV's, why buy 15 when you can buy 1 :D
Edit: i think this is the same sub sitting on the ground....its a monster :D

Yea, I agree, its definately aimed towards the people that buy multiple subs, this way they can buy a single one that puts possibly even more power then multiple ones. Requires the same amount of power as multiple amps and subs but less frustration of wiring them all up.
Not a question of why but what you are into. If you just want a little bump, then its not for you. Thats why these types of subs are made. Theres a demand for them so they are made.
Ive never heard of Military grade flat wound wire but Im sure its used to handle the amount of power. Standard copper wound coils would most likely not handle the power

Why didnt you just say "lets have no fun in life and stick to the boring and monotonous." would have saved you a few sentences....
What fun is life if you dont try anything new ever? Regrets are all that you will get later in life.
The Jackhammer is pointless.... a 369 pound paper weight to be exact. For the money you would spend on the sub, amps, charging system, etc., you could build a system that would kill the Jackhammer. It does look mean as fu@k though.....

Jackhammer isn't anything now, well compared to this Earthquake one. This thing is making 1000 more wattage RMS then the Jackhammer, weighs 3 times less(from what Troy said) so why spend the moeny for a "paper weight" as stated above,no reason now:D

the one on the way bottom should be enough to power that sub http://www.earthquakesound.com/powerhouse_amplifiers.htm

earthquakes are honeslty the best subs i feel. thy give a 5 year warranty. no questions asked. blow a sub thye will give you a new one. same for speakers, tweeters. they hit hard too. my recommendations is go earthquake, you wont regret it.
