I don't know if you guys have talked about it but what do you think about the device that is supposed to repel rust for your car throught electricity or electric charge. the thing costs about $200 plus another $100 for installation. I think that krown or other spray on stuff is the only true method of rust proofing.
but some major retailers are backing up this device so???
has anyone seen any reviews or tests any where???

The one on my mothers 1994 Ciera didn't stop the rust.
I would have to say that metal car bodies have used the metal as the return path for the ground for years and they still rusted. New car bodies have galvanized panels and don't rust as soon as they used to do.

There is technology out there that works in the same fashion but from what I recall reading, the current strength that it'd take to make it work would destroy a cars electrical system.
So ya, anything like this that you see for a car is pretty much a scam.

the government uses them on the "ghoste fleet" of battle ships, air craft carriers and so on (the ships that aren't on active duty.) so it could work, i would doubt for 200 though it would be worth or cost effective as getting a spray on sealer type deal.

This should probably be in the body shop section.
You cant stop rust from happening when you have uncoated metals.

Better to spend the money keeping your car clean.

up here all snow plowers, blowers and dump trucks (winter cleaning equipment) carry the electric repeller, but i dont think its the same available to us through stores.
it works on the big machines though.

I'd always run it though a good car wash and get the underspray once a week, at least every other.
good car wash: where they spray the big nasty stuff off the guy's truck ahead of you who went mudding last weekend so it's not all over the carwash washer clothes.
best car wash: buy a lift and a pressure washer.
