K so ive got quite a bit done on the car so far(88 grand am 2.3l quad 4, manual transmission), but the passenger side cv joint is just not comming out, there's a bracket holding it in and i cant even get the bracket off, its bolted to the engine, i got the 2 bolts out holding it in but the motor mount and an aluminum looking bracket is holding right against the bracket thats holding in the cv joint, plus i was told and i heard from a few places the right side cv joint(the longer one) splits apart, ive tried everything and it wont come apart... any tricks to do that?
god im so frustrated i just want to break shit, lol, plus pictures would help like billions.

Sorry but there's not many people who have that old of a GA and they don't often visit the boards. You'll probally have to buy a service manual if you don't have one. Have you tried serching this board for your problem?

You say you're replacing the transmission.
Do you have the 'new' (salvaged?) tranny handy, so you can compare with the one in the car?
Can't you just remove that 'torque strut' motor mount, and get it out of the way?

yeah i got the newer tranny sitting beside my car, and no i cant get that mount out of the way, there is another mount that goes to the engine that sits right up againts it and i cant get it out
but i would like to know does the rigth side cv joint separate from that one shaft?
if so is there any tricks to it other than using brute force?
