weird fan noise

This morning I turned the heat on and turned the fan up to 3. Anything above 3 makes this buzzing noise and vibrates the entire car. It works, it just makes tons of noise. Any ideas?

id check out the blower motor. turn it on 4 or so, and pop the hood. on the passenger side near the top of the firewall put your hand on the side of the motor.

does it vibrate alot?
some vibration is obviously normal, but if its excessive you have a problem.

if so you will have to pull it out and inspect for foreign objects, or broken blades on the fan. Might even be a problem with the motor.

IIRC its not overly hard to remove the blower on the 01's. there should be 4 or 5 screws + the connectors that unplug.
