Engine Swap

I have a 95 GA with 2.3l quad DOHC LD2. I don't know exactly what happened to my engine but it is gone. I was thinking about getting the crate HO from Mantapart and was wondering what else I would need (besides a new HO chip) in order to get this thing running. I also have the 4T60E auto trans. I was told by Manta that the HO would be a better engine than the W41 for my automatic transmission. Also they said that if I bought some performance bolt-ons that they will give them to me for half off. I was thinking of thier sports cast exhaust & intake manifolds, larger throttle body, sports power pulley kit, and A/C eliminator pulley. Let me know what you guys think!

Go for it. If the rest of their parts are as good as their chips then I would jump all over it. And I had my 2.3 replaced and that is the route that I should have gone. DO IT!!

how do you know if you car is high output i have a 1995 quad 4 dohc, is that high output???

No the 95 is Low Output, he is talking about buying a High Output engine to swap in it.

Moddin_Freak, if your going through all that work to get more performance, I would get the 5 speed Getrag. Your still going to be limited to the power out put with that Auto Tranny.

Umm.. Mantaparts "Sports" manifolds are stock HO manifolds. When I was new to Quads I almost bought them.. then I realized.. I already had them!

Yeah, the earlier style HO manifolds (ported some), but for the newer cars with the crappy later style exhaust manifold it's a definite upgrade as is the downpipe.
