First can you fit gauges into the vents on the dash of an 03 GT, I have the photochopped version, and the measurement seems to work, just not sure if blocking those vents is really a great idea.

Also there front fenders with vents that are made for the 03 GT?

I just used those gauges that i could find, I would probably have something a little closer to the scheme of the interior.

Thanks
K.

Some people have put gauges in the vents. I don't know what size they used but some made rings to fill the gap between the gauge and the vent.

I would try to angle them toward the driver. I would also use a smaller sized gauge and leave some sort of area so air could flow around it.

I thought that even if i left one out completely that would be sufficent enough for air circulation.

You could cut rings out of clear plastic and have lights behind them....

www.andysautosport.com have fenders for your year and you should def design something so air can circulate

I like the look the way they are. I did that in a DEL SOL I had once and it fit perfectly , however i was stupid and no air could come thru so i ended up having to modify it and it ended up looking like shit after the mod

2 5/8" gauges are a great fit in the circular vent holes. 2 1/16" gauges can be used if you make some type of mount/spacer, although they don't look that great since the blank hole of the vent dwarfs them.

Thoughts on the photoshop setup...
-That fuel pressure gauge is for carb'ed engines, too low pressure for fuel injected fuel systems.
-A voltage gauge will be both more useful and easier to install
-I wouldn't cover all vents... I could see using 1 vent, or 2 by using the one on the far drivers side.

If i was you i would buy a guage pod from PFYC.com. Its more proffesional looking. If the time comes that you need more guages then put them in your vents.

Yes Gauges do work great there, Rob (IrateGT) has his boost gague there IIRC.

IF you want gauges that match the stock ones almost perfectly get VDO Vision series and use a red bulb. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

x2.

Actually both of my VDO gauges came with a red bulb cover... it matches perfectly.

you can also get f1 style fenders from aedcentral, or you can buy many kinds of inserts and have them welded / blended in at a shop

I do like the pilar pod as well, it is just that when i see them in cars i think they should mean that the car has some serious engine mods. turbo. supercharger. It is just my opinion though.

If i get the chance to slap something like that on the car then the pilar pod is the way to go for me.

Thanks

I have three Stewart Warner gauges 2 5/8"s in my vents (oil pressure, volts, and transmission temperature) and they work fine. I don't have any problems with airflow, the remaining two vents just blow harder. To install them what I did was use the mounting rings from the vents and a piece of 2.5" (I think anyway) rubber hose to make them fit securely in the vents. Have had them in since June with no problems.
