hey,

I have a problem with one of the connections with the fuse inside my fuse box that is to the left of the steering wheel. Last week i installed LEDs in the foot wells of the car, and one way i was going to give them power was to connect it to the interior lights fuse, by means of a fuse tap. So appearently the fuse tap was too big for the fuse connector, and it pushed back one side of the fuse connector, inside the fuse box, back... and i took off the fuse tap but now i cannot make a connection. Is there anyway i can push/pull that fuse connector back out into the correct position? (when i am talking about the fuse connector i am talking about the metal clips that are inside the fuse box that hold down the fuse blades into the slot and makes the connection, seems like they are made of copper)

thanks for all the help, and sorry i cant describe it better...

Ok, with out knowing whether it's the positive side or not, first thing I would do is disconnect the negative battery cable. Is it possible to hook a paper clip under the tab and pull it out, in to position? if not you may have to access the back some how to push it back into place.

nah i cant pull it out, i been trying to do so for some time, all it did was push it back further... and is there a way i can access the back?

Honestly not sure, but before digging in back, disconnect that negative battery cable.

You will probally have to unscrew the fuse panel to get to the back

You'll need to get behind the fuse panel from under the dash... which means having either tiny hands or doing some major dash disassembly.

i have taken a bunch of parts off of my dash... but i never taken off a part of it that held in the fuse box... because i couldnt find a way to unscrew it all...

Yeah you're gonna have to push the terminal back in from the other side of the block. Is is the cold side or the hot side of the fuse socket that got pushed out?

If you can't get the terminal back in you may have to rewire the circuit using an inline fuse holder and the cold side of the circuit; connected on the other end to the hot side of the block or directly to the battery.

This is just another reason why I'd never use "add-a-circuit" things, and especially never ghetto wire up a wire to one side of a fuse either (particularly since many people that do this never understand which side of the fuse is hot and which side is fused).

Hopefully you get your issue resolved, however in the future I would suggest cutting the appropriate circuit wiring in appropriate places away from the block, and crimping or soldering the additional connection(s) you need to appropriate existing vehicle circuits.
