Hope this helps with anyone experiacing a squealy belt followed by a failure, or metal ticking, grindingish noises.

I have never seen that happen on a 3100/3400.

On this car? I always expect the worse. Previous owners did not take care of it. The Condensor is bent, front suspension is shot, and the current owner doesn't want to spend money and my time fixing it.
I have replaced every vacume line, I have replace battery cables batteries, calipers, rotors, pads, window parts, sensors, bunch of stuff. just keeps going on this downward spiral, its leveled off for the pasr 6 months and this just happened, so Im hoping that it.

Like all parts, everything wear. Im suspecting it was not tighten correctly from factory and it took it 115,000 miles to explode, like this.

The 3400 engine has a self adjusting crank and stuff so it requires no additionals weights to keep it balance. Im just hoping its just a one time deal, and no more.

The Harmonic Balancer they call it. I guess it went out of balance and burned.

Okay So I had the car towed today, I told hte towe driver DO NOT START THE CAR. I KNEW I SHOULD OF PULLED THE BATTERY CABLE, anyways, the PULLEY IS NOW HANGING 1/2 way OFF I can see a space inbetween.

Stupid people. Cannot Follow Simple Instructions and Geico Insurance Sucks, They only pay for the cloest pontiac dealership. This just happens to be the one that messed my car up bad. So I had the car towed down to a pontiac dealership who does it righgt but takes 8 hours in the process to do it.

Blah!
